Why we publish research
The SEO industry is full of speculation disguised as expertise. Someone reads a patent filing, writes a theory, and it becomes "best practice" overnight — with zero data behind it.
We take a different approach. After 14 years of managing campaigns across industries, we've accumulated real performance data. We publish our findings because transparency makes the industry better, and because the businesses that understand the data make smarter decisions about where to invest.
Every piece of research we publish is based on data from real campaigns — not surveys, not hypotheticals, not "we asked 50 SEOs what they think."
Research areas
GEO effectiveness studies
Generative Engine Optimization is new territory. We're actively studying what makes AI platforms like ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity recommend one brand over another. Our research covers content authority signals, structured data impact, and the role of third-party mentions in AI-generated recommendations.
AI search behavior analysis
How do users interact with AI search differently than traditional Google search? We track query patterns, click-through behavior from AI Overviews, and the types of businesses that benefit most from AI visibility. This data directly informs our GEO strategies.
Local SEO ranking factors
We analyze ranking patterns across hundreds of local search queries in competitive markets like Los Angeles and Orange County. Our studies examine which factors actually move Map Pack rankings — proximity weighting, review velocity, category selection, citation consistency — and which are overrated.
Link building quality metrics
With 500+ sites in our link building network, we have unique data on which link attributes correlate with ranking improvements. We study domain authority thresholds, topical relevance scoring, anchor text distribution, and the diminishing returns curve of link acquisition at scale.
Our research informs our strategy
This isn't academic research disconnected from practice. Every study we publish directly feeds into our client strategies. When we discover that a specific type of structured data improves AI citation rates by 40%, that finding goes into our GEO playbook the same week.
Clients like Solomia Home — where we achieved 47 competitive keywords in the top 3 and AI visibility across ChatGPT and Gemini — benefit directly from this research-driven approach. We don't follow industry consensus. We follow the data.
